29 CFR 1910.147(c)(7)(i): The employer does not provide adequate training to ensure that the purpose and function of the energy control program is understood by employees: The employer does not ensure that employees who perform tasks such as, but not limited to, changing the blade on the Baker Products Band Resaw machine are trained in the skills required for the safe application, usage, and removal of energy controls. This violation reportedly occurred on or about October 4, 2016, when employees were exposed to amputation and laceration injury during blade changing activities without the benefit of energy control. To abate this violation, the employer must ensure that employees are trained how to isolate energy sources. A&D Wood Products, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of an equivalent Occupational Safety and Health Standard 29 CFR 1910.147(c)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 108854, citation number 1, item number 3 and was affirmed as a final order on May 3, 2012, with respect to a workplace located at 112 Ward St., Elida, Ohio 45807. A&D Wood Products, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this Occupational Safety and Health Standard 29 CFR 1910.147(c)(7)(i), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 991395, citation number 3, item number 1a and was affirmed as a final order on May 9, 2016, with respect to a workplace located at 112 Ward St., Elida, Ohio 45807.
