29 CFR 1910.134(c)(1): In any workplace where respirators are necessary to protect the health of the employee or whenever respirators are required by the employer, the employer did not establish and implement a written respiratory protection program with worksite-specific procedures. a) ASARCO Hayden Smelter, at the Converter Baghouse area: Employees were engaged in cleaning, inspecting, vacuuming and air blasting in the Converter Baghouse area. The employees were exposed to potential lung related illnesses. The written respiratory protection program did not include worksite specific procedures or elements specific to ASARCO Hayden Smelter. Carylon Corporation dba Ace Pipe Cleaning Inc. was previously cited for a violation of an equivalent Occupational Safety and Health Standard 29 CFR 1910.134(c)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 398262, citation number 2, item number 2 and was affirmed as a final order on August 1, 2012, with respect to a workplace located at ASARCO Hayden Smelter, 64 Asarco Ave., Hayden, Arizona 85235.
