29 CFR 1910.305(g)(1)(iv)(A): Flexible cords and/or cables were used as a substitute for the fixed wiring of a structure: On or about 01/06/2016, Flexible cords and cables were used as permanent wiring when: A. Three (3) flexible (extension) cords ran from an outlet behind the soda machine into the ambulance bay and were connected to ambulances in the bay. B. An orange flexible cord was ran from an outlet behind that soda machine into the ambulance bay and was connected to a light that was mounted onto a lift. C. Temporary light strings are being used for permanent lighting in the area by the soda machine and store areas. On or about 03/21/2016, Flexible cords and cables were used as permanent wiring when: D. A brown flexible (extension) cord ran from an outlet located on the south wall of the living quarters, along the floor and was connected to the TV. At the Vandalia location, in the ambulance bay, the employer used a red flexible (extension) cord to provide power to a Carrier furnace located in the utility closet and an orange flexible (extension) cord to provide power to the LiftMaster garage door.
