Text For Citation: 02 Item/Group: 002 Hazard:
29 CFR 1926.1425(c)(3): The materials must be rigged by a qualified rigger. (a)CCM Welding Repair & Fabrication, LLC @ 100 Caspian Ave., Volga, SD 57071: On or about November 5th, 2015, the exposing employer did not ensure employees were qualified riggers during hoisting activities involving the catwalk installation. The employer did not ensure employees possessed a recognized degree, certificate or professional standing or had extensive knowledge and expertise and demonstrated the ability to solve problems related to rigging loads. Employees were involved in rigging a catwalk without receiving the training to be considered qualified riggers. The condition exposed employees to struck-by hazards associated with improperly rigging a load.
