Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: Employees were exposed to the hazard of falling or tripping into elevator machinery and electrical components in machine room "A", lighting was not provided. Among other methods one feasible and acceptalbe abatement method to correct this hazard is to: Immediately install permanent lighting for machine Room "A" and access to room. Reference Publication American National Standard Institute/America Society of Mechanical Engineers A 17.3-1986 Section 2.2.3 and ANSI 17.1 Rule 101.5a Violation observed on or about 5/4/92
