Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The %% employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: a) In that illumination was not provided so as to allow employee(s) a clear view to access and/or to perform work in a safe manner when adjacent dangerous machinery such as, but not limited to; the belt conveyor and related equipment at the tail end of the "Slogger Line" pit located in department 03. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to provide temporary lighting in conformance with the National Electric Codes and Illumination as recommended by American National Standard Practice for Industrial Lighting.
