29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1):Types of guarding. One or more methods of machine guarding shall be provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks. a) On or about February 7, 2025, employees operating the Automated Industrial Technologies M2L-200 stacker machine, known as the Cut Shop Gang Saw Stacker, were exposed to pinch point hazards due to the unguarded lift table, shelf assembly, and shelf fingers. b) On or about February 19, 2025, employees operating the Automated Industrial Technologies M2L-200 stacker machine, known as the Cut Shop Notcher Stacker, were exposed to pinch point hazards due to the unguarded lift table, shelf assembly, and shelf fingers. Pallet Distributors Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this Occupational Safety and Health standard 29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1558518, citation number 1, item number 4 and was affirmed as a final order on February 7, 2022, with respect to a workplace located at 10143 Copperhead Road NW, Sugarcreek, OH 44681.
