Text For Citation: 02 Item/Group: 001C Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.1200(h)(1): Employers shall provide employees with effective information and training on hazardous chemicals in their work area at the time of their initial assignment, and whenever a new chemical hazard the employees have not previously been trained about is introduced into their work area. Information and training may be designed to cover categories of hazards (e.g., flammability, carcinogenicity) or specific chemicals. Chemical-specific information must always be available through labels and safety data sheets. (a) Pepsico at 115 W. 16th Street, Craig, Colorado 81625: On or before May 31, 2017, the employer did not provide information and training to employees in regards to safety data sheets. Employees use chemicals such as Clorox Bleach, Mobil Motor Oil, Diesel Fuel Supplement, and Carbon Dioxide Gas. This exposes employees to chemical irritations to eyes, respiratory, and skin due to employee lack of knowledge regarding chemical hazards.
