29 CFR 1910.1052(c)(2): Short-term exposure limit (STEL). The employer shall ensure that no employee is exposed to an airborne concentration of MC in excess of one hundred and twenty-five parts of MC per million parts of air (125 ppm) as determined over a sampling period of fifteen minutes. On or about March 7, 2024, at an establishment located at 724 South Industrial Drive in Waupaca, Wisconsin; an employee stripping wood furniture using Benco B7 industrial paint remover was exposed to a 15-minute short-term exposure of 258 ppm of Methylene chloride (MC), approximately 2 times the Short-Term Exposure Limit (STEL) of 125 ppm. The exposure level was derived from a sample collected over a 15-minute sampling period.
