29 CFR 1926.652(g)(2): Excavations of earth material to a level greater than 2 feet (.61 m) below the bottom of a shield shall not be permitted: (a) On or about November 17, 2022, and at times prior to, at the Throckmorton Sewer Trunk Line Extension Project, employees working in an excavation more than 2 feet below a trench shield were not protected from a cave-in.
