29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(1): Where portable ladders were used for access to upper landing surfaces, the ladder side rails did not extend at least 3 feet (.9 m) above the upper landing surface to which the ladders were used to gain access. Location: 3 Boston Way, Newburyport, MA On or about 9/7/22, employees were using an 8 foot step ladder for access to the rooftop and the ladder did not extend 3 feet above the upper landing surface. JKA Construction, Inc was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1926.1053(b)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1402963, citation number 1, item number 3 and was affirmed as a final order on 09/23/2019, with respect to a workplace located at Executive Drive, Merrimack, NH 03054.
