29 CFR 1926.21(b)(2):The employer shall instruct each employee in the recognition and avoidance of unsafe conditions and the regulations applicable to his work environment to control or eliminate any hazards or other exposure to illness or injury. a. On or about January 14, 2022, the employer did not instruct employees on the avoidance of unsafe conditions while employees installed framing lumber on top of the unprotected side/edge of the second floor level of a new build residential home. The employees were exposed to a fall distance of 8 feet 10 inches to the ground level as a result. Sanchez Construction LLC was previously cited for a repeat serious violation of this occupational safety and health standard 29 CFR 1926.20(b)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1476636, citation number 2, item number 2 and was affirmed as a final order on August 25, 2020, with respect to a workplace located at 6823 Streamside Drive, Sum 119, Galena, Ohio 43021. Sanchez Construction LLC was previously cited for a serious violation of this occupational safety and health standard 29 CFR 1926.20(b)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1423718, citation number 1, item number 2a and was affirmed as a final order on December 04, 2019, with respect to a workplace located at 6950 Scarlet Oak Drive, Lot 409, Hilliard, Ohio 43026.
