Text For Citation: 02 Item/Group: 001B Hazard:
29 CFR 1926.21(b)(2): The employer shall instruct each employee in the recognition and avoidance of unsafe conditions and the regulations applicable to his work environment to control or eliminate any hazards or other exposure to illness or injury: a) Jobsite: The employer failed to eliminate the hazard or to instruct the employees who were working in an approximately 7 1/2 foot deep excavation and trench without any shoring, and having tools and material too close to the edge of the excavation. Condition was observed on or about 17 AUG 2018. ISS Management, LLC., was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1926.21(b)(2) which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1212426, citation number 1, item number 1/b, and was affirmed as a final order on 16 JUN 2017, with respect to a workplace located at 9371 Roosevelt Blvd., Philadelphia.
