29 CFR 1910.147(c)(9): Notification of employees. Affected employees shall be notified by the employer or authorized employee of the application and removal of or tagout devices. Notification shall be given before the controls are applied, and after they are removed from the machine or equipment. a) Production Area Jelly Cup Line: On or about December 20, 2016, and at times prior, the employer did not assure employees were protected from caught-in hazards while operating the Line D Jelly Cup Filling machine(01D) in that a method of notification was not established as part of the energy control procedure when applying and removing locks.
