OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which was free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to fall hazards from ladders. a. Site - An employee was exposed to fall hazards when a 28 foot Louisville fiberglass extension ladder was used to gain access to and from a low slope metal roof without having the side rails extended at least 3 feet above the eave.
