29 CFR 1910.165(b)(1): The employee alarm system did not provide warning for necessary emergency action as called for in the emergency action plan, or for reaction time for safe escape of employees from the workplace or the immediate work area, or both. a)On or about October 7, 2010 and at times prior thereto, the alarm was not sounded for an ammonia release and subsequent evacuation. The first step in the emergency response plan for an ammonia release is for the first responder to activate the evacuation alarm immediately. CTI-SSI Food Services, LLC was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard, which was contained in inspection number 311573935, citation number 1, item number 1a, and was affirmed as a final order on March 7, 2008, with respect to a workplace located at 22303 Highway 95, Wilder, Idaho. Note: Abatement certification and supporting documentation are required for this item.
