29 CFR 1910.107(c)(5): Electrical equipment not approved for locations containing both deposits of readily ignitable residues and explosive vapors was present in spraying area(s). (a) Facility at 310 Bourne Avenue (building 50) in Rumford, RI: On or about March 13, 2024, while working in the makeshift paint booth, employees were exposed to fire hazards from the use of electrical equipment, including but not limited to, a corded Milwaukee handheld grinder and unrated fluorescent lighting zip tied to the metal frame of the canopy, which were not approved for locations containing both deposits of readily ignitable residues and explosive vapors present in spraying area(s). Amaral Custom Fabrications Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard, 29 CFR 1910.107(c)(5), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1670157, citation number 1, item number 2b and was affirmed as a final order on 12/13/2023, with respect to a workplace located at 310 Bourne Avenue (building 50) in Rumford, RI.
