Text For Citation: 02 Item/Group: 001A Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.1200(h)(1):The employer did not provide employees with effective information and training on hazardous chemicals in their work area at the time of their initial assignment, and whenever a new physical or health hazard the employees had not previously been trained about was introduced into their work area: a) Virginia International Gateway (1000 Virginia International Gateway Blvd, Portsmouth, VA 23703): On or about 10/5/2022 and times prior thereto, the employer did not ensure that all employees assigned to work with hazardous cleaning chemicals were provided hazard communication training on the site specific chemicals and the Globally Harmonized System (GHS). Abatement certification and documentation required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, the date and method of abatement, and state that employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement. Abatement documentation shall include documents demonstrating that abatement is complete, such as evidence of the purchase or repair of equipment, photographic or video evidence of abatement or other written records.
