29 CFR 1910.147(c)(7)(i):The employer did not provide adequate training to ensure that employees acquired the knowledge and skills required for the safe application, usage and removal of energy control devices: a. ArcelorMittal Tubular Products USA LLC - Shelby, Ohio: On or about September 30, 2021, the employer did not ensure that employees who setup and maintained the West Bench were trained in the skills required for the safe application, usage, and removal of energy controls. Employees who unjammed the equipment and setup the dies, gripper, and mandrel were not trained to isolate and/or render energy sources safe prior to performing servicing tasks. ArcelorMittal Tubular Products USA LLC was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard 29 CFR 1910.147(c)(7)(i), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1212671, citation number 1, item number 1a and was affirmed as a final order on July 18, 2017, with respect to a workplace located at 686 W. Fairground St., Marion, OH 43302.
