29 CFR 1910.147(c)(4)(i): Procedures were not developed, documented and utilized for the control of potentially hazardous energy when employees were engaged in activities covered by this section: Mail Processing Area: On or about December 31, 2019, an employee was preforming a maintenance task on the APPS Machine without utilizing the energy control procedures to achieve total de-energization. Employees were exposed to entanglement and/or amputation hazards from spinning rollers. The U.S. Postal Service was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1910.147(c)(4)(i), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1283530, citation number 2, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on 12/10/2018, with respect to a workplace located at 1050 Forbell Ave. Brooklyn, New York 11256.
