Text For Citation: 02 Item/Group: 001A Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.219(c)(4)(i): Unguarded projecting shaft end(s) did not present a smooth edge and end and projected more than one half the diameter of the shaft: a) Plant - On or about 02/20/19 and at times prior thereto the shaft in the Morgan single head resaw did not have a complete guard. The shaft end did not present a smooth edge, and projected more than half a diameter. b) Plant - On or about 02/20/19 and at times prior thereto the shaft in the chain conveyor placed at the outlet of the Pendu rip saw was not guarded, and projected more than one diameter. c) Plant - On or about 02/20/19 and at times prior thereto the conveyor connecting the Tri State saw and the KM-16 trim saw had an unguarded shaft which did not present a smooth edge, and projected one diameter. In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET). Lincoln Lumber Company was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1910.219(c)(4)(i), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1072029, citation number 1, item number 2-a, and was affirmed as a final order on 10/02/2015, with respect to a workplace located at 414 County Farm Road, Brookhaven, MS 39602.
