29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13): Each employee(s) engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels were not protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system, nor were employee(s) provided with an alternative fall protection measure under another provision of paragraph 1926.501 (b): (a) On or about December 27, 2018 and at times prior thereto, employees were not protected from falls while removing snow and ice from a frozen and/or a slippery roof with a ground to eave height of approximately 10 feet on a 10 in 12 pitch roof. Employees did not anchor directly above their work location an did not adjust and use the lifeline to ensure they would not strike or swing to the ground. (b) On or about December 27, 2018 and at times prior thereto, employees performing roofing activities were exposed to fall hazards when two employees shared one anchorage point designed to support only one employee. Note: Abatement certification AND supporting documentation ARE required for this item. Granite Enterprises, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1254363, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on November 29, 2017, with respect to a workplace located at 115 E. Anton Avenue, Coeur d'Alene, ID 83815. Granite Enterprises, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1041274, citation number 1, item number 1a and was affirmed as a final order on December 26, 2016, with respect to a workplace located at 2000 W. John Loop, Coeur d'Alene, Idaho 83814.
