OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: (a) Employees were not protected from safety hazards when working on systems with high pressure oxygen. As part of the settlement, the respondent agrees to ensure that all abatement items that the company adopted after the OSHA inspection in this matter will be implemented. Of those abatement items, the procedures related to the control of hazardous energy, procedures related to isolation of equipment where engineering controls are insufficient, and training on such procedures with other Company facilities having similar flux oxygen delivery systems, and such procedures will be implemented where appropriate as best practices.
