29 CFR 1910.217(f)(2): Operator(s) were not trained and instructed in the safe method of work before starting work on mechanical power press(es) and supervision to ensure that correct operating procedures were being followed on mechanical power press(es) was inadequate: a) Miscellaneous Department- The employer did not provide adequate supervision to operators to ensure that correct operating procedures were being followed when assigned to operate mechanical power presses, such as the Walsh Press & Die Company Punch Press #2719, Model #38, Serial #9965. Operators were not sufficiently trained in the safe method of work before starting work. Mercury Products Corp. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1910.217(f)(2), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 314173782, citation number 1, item number 1, was issued on June 15, 2010, and became final order on July 6, 2010, with respect to the workplace located at 1201 Mercury Drive, Schaumburg, IL 60193.
