29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): "Unprotected sides and edges." Each employee on a walking/working surface (horizontal and vertical surface) with an unprotected side or edge which is 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level shall be protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. a) Jobsite, 924 Green Street, Unit 1 2nd Floor - Employees were working within 2 foot of an unprotected 3 foot by 13 foot floor hole that was 12 foot 8 inches above the next level without fall protection, observed on or about 6/19/13. b) Jobsite, 924 Green Street, Unit 1 1st Floor - Employees were working within 2 foot of an unprotected 3 foot by 5 foot 9 inch floor hole that was 6 foot 8 inches above the next level without fall protection, observed on or about 6/19/13. The Yong Sheng Construction Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1926.501(b)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 845183, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on May 16, 2013, with respect to a workplace located at 924 Green Street Philadelphia, PA.
