29 CFR 1926.652(c)(2)(i): Design of support systems, shield systems, or other protective systems that are drawn from manufacturer's tabulated data shall be in accordance with all specifications, recommendations, and limitations issued or made by the manufacturer. a. On or about July 23, 2012 - at the above addressed jobsite, an employee conducting a pipe repair inside a six (6) foot four (4) inch deep trench was not provided with an adequate protective shield system, in accordance with all specifications, recommendations, and limitations issued or made by the manufacturer, thereby exposing the employee to the hazard associated with cave-ins THE PEOPLES GAS LIGHT AND COKE COMPANY WAS PREVIOUSLY CITED FOR A VIOLATION OF THIS OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH STANDARD OR ITS EQUIVALENT STANDARD 1926.652(a)(1), WHICH WAS CONTAINED IN OSHA INSPECTION NUMBER 311376438, CITATION NUMBER 1, ITEM NUMBER 2, AND WAS AFFIRMED AS A FINAL ORDER ON DECEMBER 11, 2008 WITH RESPECT TO A WORKPLACE LOCATED AT 110TH AND BELL AVE, CHICAGO, IL 60643.
