North Carolina General Statute 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to a burn hazard. a)dynamometer rooms, dynamometer exhaust pipes reach temperatures exceeding 500 degrees fahrenheit and were not guaranteed to prevent accidental contact by employees. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to install engineering controls such as guarding where employees could accidentally contact the exhaust pipes.
