40.1-51.1.(a)-Code of Virginia: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to working under large trucks suspended from a hoist without the wheels being chocked. "Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to follow the procedure the company outlined in previous inspection #126611391 Citation 1, Item 2 ." The procedure reads as follows: In order to take additional measures to support the weight of the trucks during the decking process, we have started the following procedures: Wood blocks are placed under the jaws of the saddle to keep them on a level plane. The unit is lowered into the jaws of the saddle so its front axle is under the front lip of te saddle jaw. This will prevent forward movement of the hoisted truck. the truck is then lowered so the saddle takes up the weight. This will prevent downward movement to the hoisted truck. The rear wheels of the hoisted unit are then chocked from behind to prevent any backward movement. Only after these procedures are followed will the worker get under the hoisted truck to turn and tighten the j-bolts.
