NCGS 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: crushing hazards. a)site - Sanderson Plantman 604 rough terrain fork lift, serial# CT 64047K3846, equipped with overhead guard did not have seat belts installed in accordance with ANSI B56.6-1992 para 8.26/SAE J386. (Ref. ASME/ANSI B56.6- 1992) One feasible and acceptable abatement method, among others, to correct this hazard is to install seat belts and ensure that they are utilized by forklift operators.
