29 CFR 1910.215(b)(9): The distance between the abrasive wheel periphery(s) and the adjustable tongue or the end of the safety guard peripheral member at the top exceeded one fourth inch: In the Maintenance Area, employees engaged in maintenance activities at bench grinders were exposed to struck by hazards in that the grinding wheels were not adjusted to 1/4 inch from tongue guard in the following instances: 1. Dayton bench grinder tongue guard adjusted to 1/2" 2. Duracraft bench grinder tongue guard adjusted to 1/2" Central States Marketing & Manufacturing, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1910.215(b)(9), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1565937, citation number 1, item number 5, and was affirmed as a final order on 01/04/2022, with respect to a workplace located at 1320 N. US 81 Bypass McPherson, KS 67460.
