29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(1):Where portable ladders were used for access to an upper landing surface and the ladder's length allows, the ladder side rails did not extend at least 3 feet (.9 m) above the upper landing surface being accessed: On or about June 26, 2025, at 7719 Goldenrod Drive, Mentor, OH 44060, the employer failed to ensure employees utilizing a portable ladder to gain access to the roof to perform weatherproofing work were protected from a fall of approximately 9 feet in that the ladder did not extend 3 feet above the landing zone. Quality Roofing and Renovation LLC was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard (1926.1053(b)(1) Ladders), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1812737, citation number 02, item number 02 and was affirmed as a final order on 5/6/2025, with respect to a workplace located at 12164 Hilary Drive NW, North Royalton, OH 44133. Quality Roofing and Renovation LLC was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard (1926.1053(b)(1) Ladders), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1660181, citation number 01, item number 02a and was affirmed as a final order on 6/6/2023, with respect to a workplace located at 3944 E. 42ND ST, Cleveland Ohio 44105.
