Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to live electrical parts. (a)F/T Ocean Rover in the Galley at the Dry Storage area, two each 2' fluorescent lighting located less than 7' from the floor with covers missing exposing live electrical parts. NOTE: The American Seafoods Company was previously cited for a violation of this Occupational Safety and Health standard or its equivalent standard 5(a)(1) which was contained in OSHA Inspection Number 301494910, Citation 1 Item 1 and Item 2, issued on 10/15/98 with respect to a workplace located in Naknek, Alaska and Inspection Number 301496071, Citation Number 1, Item Number 1 and Item 2, issued on 03/09/00 with respect to a workplace located in Dutch Harbor, Alaska. ABATEMENT NOTE: Instance a, above was corrected at the time of the inspection by installing covers, therefore abatement certification and documentation is not required for this item.red
