Text For Citation: 02 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.147(c)(7)(i)(A): Each authorized employee shall receive training in the recognition of applicable hazardous energy sources, the type and magnitude of the energy available in the workplace, and the methods and means necessary for energy isolation and control. The employer is failing to ensure employees engaged in servicing and maintenance activities were trained to the authorized level to safely control the machine's hazardous energy prior to performing work. Machine Operators are exposed to caught-in hazards of the machine's moving/rotating parts while performing servicing and maintenance activities such as, but not limited to, cleaning rollers, inspecting, and making adjustments to machine components on the Vireo 3 print machine. This was most recently documented on January 28, 2025, in Plant 2 which is located at 2441 East Glendale Avenue, Appleton, Wisconsin. Progressive Converting, Inc. DBA Pro-Con was previously cited for a violation of a similar Occupational Safety and Health Standard 29 CFR 1910.147(c)(7)(i), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1744903, citation 1, item 2, and was affirmed as a final order on October 10, 2024, with respect to a workplace located at 2430 East Glendale Avenue, Appleton, Wisconsin.
