29 CFR 1910.132(d)(2): The employer did not verify, through a written certification, the identity of the workplace evaluated, the person certifying that the evaluation had been performed, and the date the hazard assessment was done: Housekeeping: On or about October 18, 2024, the employer failed to conduct a workplace hazard assessment and create a written certificate for employees who used corrosive materials such as Ecolab Peroxide Multi-surface Sanitizer and were required to wear safety glasses/goggles, which potentially exposed employees to corneal or retinal burns. The Gateway Inn & Suites was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard, 29 CFR 1910.132(d)(2), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1663536, citation number 1, item number 8(a), and was affirmed as a final order on June 05, 2023, with respect to a workplace located at 2200 Bennett Road, Building 401, El Centro, CA 92243.
