29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems: On or about June 26, 2024, and at times prior thereto, an employee installing gutters on the north side of the second-level commercial building roof kneeled on top of the parapet wall and leaned over the roof edge without utilizing fall protection equipment. Baldwin Roofing Company was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard, which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1709885, citation number 1, item number 1, and was affirmed as a final order on June 10, 2024, with respect to a workplace located at 15137 S Padre Island Drive, Corpus Christi, Texas.
