29 CFR 1910.305(g)(2)(ii): Electrical. Wiring methods, components, and equipment for general use. Flexible cords may be used only in continuous lengths without splice or tap. Hard-service cord and junior hard-service cord No. 14 and larger may be repaired if spliced so that the splice retains the insulation, outer sheath properties, and usage characteristics of the cord being spliced. On or about April 30, 2024, at 505 N 72nd Avenue in Wausau, Wisconsin, on Line 13, employees were exposed to electrical hazards operating the Moulder Feed Table within two feet of a spliced 120V cord with exposed conductors.
