Text For Citation: 02 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.36(g)(2): Exit access(es) were not at least 28 inches (71.1 cm) wide at all points. (a) Rear Caller Service Area - On or about April 18, 2024, the exit access leading to the designated exit door, was obstructed with white plastic mail totes and trays that caused the pathway width to be shorten to 23 inches. The U.S. Postal Service was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1910.36(g)(2), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1727159, citation number 1 item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on 04/03/2024, with respect to a workplace located at U.S. Postal Service 2901 Scott Futrell Charlotte, NC 28228. In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the Certification of Corrective Action Worksheet), in addition, documentation demonstrating the abatement is complete must be included with your certification. This documentation may include but is not limited to evidence of the purchase or repair of the equipment, photographic or video evidence of abatement, or other written records.
