29 CFR 1910.178(q)(7): Industrial trucks shall be examined before being placed in service and shall not be placed in service if the examination shows any condition adversely affecting the safety of the vehicle. Such examination shall be made at least daily. a) On or about May 6, 2024, the employer did not ensure that the Yale Industrial truck- Model GLC050LX2NEAE087, Serial #B967V03247T was examined for conditions that could adversely affect the truck's safety before being placed into service. Employees operated lift trucks to move various materials throughout the facility. b) On or about May 6, 2024, the employer did not ensure that the Yale Industrial truck Yale Model GLC050VXNVREAE083, Serial #A910V23976L was examined for conditions that could adversely affect the truck's safety before being placed into service. Employees operated lift trucks to move various materials throughout the facility. c) On or about May 22, 2024, the employer did not ensure that powered industrial trucks were examined daily for conditions that could adversely affect the truck's safety. Employee operated the lift truck with the Morse attachment when the locking mechanism failed during the unloading of parts in the Tapping Department. Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d).
