Text For Citation: 02 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.37(a)(4): Safeguard(s) designed to protect employees during an emergency (e.g., sprinkler systems, alarm systems, fire doors, exit lighting), were not in proper working order at all times: a. Aerosol Cage Exterior Door 16 - On or about March 12, 2024, the emergency exit door sign lighting for use in the event of an emergency was not maintained in working order, employees were exposed to fire and egress hazards. FedEx Supply Chain was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard 1910.37(a)(4), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1576754, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on 7-27-2022, with respect to a workplace located at 3514 Galt Court, Rapid City, SD 57701. Abatement certification and documentation required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, the date and method of abatement, and state that employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement. Abatement documentation shall include documents demonstrating that abatement is complete, such as evidence of the purchase or repair of equipment, photographic or video evidence of abatement or other written records.
