29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13): Each employee(s) engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels were not protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system, nor were employee(s) provided with an alternative fall protection measure under another provision of paragraph 1926.501(b): The employer does not protect each employee from fall hazards while engaged in carpentry work of up to approximately twelve (12) feet by the use of guardrail system, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system. a. The employer does not protect employees engaged in residential carpentry operations 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels. The lack of fall protection was most recently observed on March 4, 2024, at the jobsite of a residential home located at Lot 21, 8647 Chilton Ct., Frankfort, IL 60423. An employee conducting carpentry operations was exposed to the hazard of falling approximately twelve (12) feet to the ground below. Dromin Construction Inc. was previously cited for a Willful violation of this Occupational Safety and Health standard 1926.501(b)(13), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1667857, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on September 15, 2023, with respect to a workplace located at 22923 Sara Springs Dr., Frankfort, IL 60423. Dromin Construction Inc. was previously cited for a Willful violation of this Occupational Safety and Health standard 1926.501(b)(13), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1544412, citation number 2, item number 1, and was affirmed as a final order on January 19, 2022, with respect to a workplace located at 8529 (Lot 31) Blue Stone Ct., Frankfort, IL 60423 Dromin Construction Inc. was previously cited for a Repeat violation of this Occupational Safety and Health standard 1926.501(b)(13), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1488563, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on December 24, 2020, with respect to a workplace located at 8722 Gray Sone Ct., Frankfort, IL 60464. To abate this hazard in the future, the employer must ensure that its employees are protected from hazard of falling while performing framing/carpentry work.
