29 CFR 1910.147(c)(7)(i)(A): Authorized employee(s) did not receive training in the recognition of applicable hazardous energy sources, the type and magnitude of the energy available in the workplace, and the methods and means necessary for energy isolation: a). Hot End, Line B4 - On or about January 31, 2024, the employer failed to provide training to each authorized employee performing service and/or maintenance to machinery or equipment to ensure the employee acquired the knowledge and skills required for the safe application, usage and removal of energy control devices. A machine operator changed the mold without properly shutting down the Emhart Glass IS bottle machine. b.) Hot End, Line B7 - On or about January 31, 2024, the employer failed to provide training to each authorized employee performing service and/or maintenance to machinery or equipment to ensure the employee acquired the knowledge and skills required for the safe application, usage and removal of energy control devices. A machine operator cleared a jam on the Emhart Glass IS bottle machine. Gerresheimer Glass, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard 29 CFR 1910.147(c)(7)(i)(A), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1638360, citation number 1, item number 2, and was affirmed as a final order on February 17, 2023, with respect to a workplace located at 1131 Arnold Street, Chicago Heights, IL 60411.
