29 CFR 1910.179(l)(3)(i):Unsafe condition(s) disclosed during the frequent or periodic inspection(s) required by 29 CFR 1910.179(j) were not corrected before operation of the crane(s) was resumed: (a) On or About January 31, 2024, the employer failed to make repairs to deficiencies found in prior periodic inspection of cranes throughout the facility, prior to resumptions of normal operations. Severe corrosion and degradation were identified on PM2 for the (Advantage North) 5-ton overhead crane bridge components and supporting structure during the periodic inspection and corrections were not made before the operation of the crane was resumed. Employees were exposed to struck-by hazards from the overhead crane and the supporting structure. (b) On or About January 31, 2024, the employer failed to make repairs to deficiencies found in prior periodic inspection of cranes throughout the facility, prior to resumptions of normal operations.
