Text For Citation: 02 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
Citation 2, Item 1: OSH Act of 1970 Section 5(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees, in that employees were exposed to burn injuries: A) On or about November 27, 2023, at 400 Eagle Court, Swedesboro, NJ, 08085, during troubleshooting activities, an employee sustained serious burns after the employer allowed hot liquid to spill from an over pressurized line in its cocoa butter deodorization system. Feasible abatement methods include developing, documenting and utilizing procedures for its employees to use when troubleshooting and clearing clogs in the processing lines of its coco butter deodorization system. NOTE: IN ADDITION TO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION, THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION FOR THIS ITEM. FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.
