29 CFR 1910.176(b): Storage of material shall not create a hazard. Bags, containers, bundles, etc., stored in tiers shall be stacked, blocked, interlocked and limited in height so that they are stable and secure against sliding or collapse. The employer fails to ensure that storage of material does not create a hazard by ensuring it is stable and secure against sliding or collapse. a) This most recently occurred between May 8, 2023 and May 15, 2023, in the Receiving Room of Dollar General Store No. 9959, located at 404 East Pioneer Street, Crandon, Wisconsin; the employer fails to ensure that storage of material does not create a struck-by hazard when plastic totes were not stable, blocked, interlocked, and limited in height so that they were stable and secure against sliding or falling onto employees.
