29 CFR 1926.651(c)(2):Means of egress from trench excavations. A stairway, ladder, ramp or other safe means of egress shall be located in trench excavations that are 4 feet or more in depth so as to require no more than 25 feet of lateral travel for employees. On or about March 14, 2023, employees were exposed to a fall hazard while working in an excavation without a safe means of egress present. The Northtex Construction, LLC was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard 29 CFR 1926.651(c)(2), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1418616, citation number 2, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on 10-07-2019, with respect to a workplace located at Meridiana Utility Project, Section 81-A, 10855 Iowa Colony Blvd, Rosharon, TX 77583.
