29 CFR 1910.37(a)(3): Exit route(s) were not kept free and unobstructed: a) The employer fails to ensure effective measures to prevent fire and entrapment hazards as demonstrated on or about May 16, 2022, in the back stockroom, where employees move, work and retrieve stock. To abate this hazard, the employer must ensure that egress routes are kept clear of merchandise, boxes of product, and roll-tainers. b) The employer fails to ensure effective measures to prevent fire and entrapment hazards as demonstrated on or about May 16, 2022, in the front of the store, where employees move, work and stock product. To abate this hazard, the employer must ensure that egress routes are kept clear of shopping carts, merchandise, boxes of product, and roll-tainers. T.J. Maxx was previously cited for a violation of this Occupational Safety and Health Standard, 29 CFR1910.37(a)(3), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1376363, citation number 1, item number 1, and was affirmed as a final order on May 18, 2020 with respect to a workplace located at 11111-16 San Jose Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32223.
