Text For Citation: 02 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.157(c)(1): Portable fire extinguishers were not mounted, located and identified so that they were readily accessible without subjecting the employees to injuries: a) The employer fails to ensure effective measures to prevent struck-by and fire hazards, as demonstrated on or about April 19, 2022 in the receiving/stockroom, office, and rear retail space, where employees move and retrieve stock. To abate this hazard, the employer must ensure that portable fire extinguishers are mounted, identified, and located where readily accessible to prevent subjecting employees to injury. The Dolgencorp, LLC was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1910.157(c)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1263006, citation number 1, item number 2 and was affirmed as a final order on February 16, 2018, with respect to a workplace located at 19055 US Highway 31, Vinemont, AL.
