29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13): "Residential construction." Each employee engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels shall be protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system unless another provision in paragraph (b) of this section provides for an alternative fall protection measure. a. Located at 2468-2496 Lakemere Way, Columbus, Ohio: On or about March 21, 2022, the employer did not protect four employees from falls when they conducted shingle removal from the steep 6/12 rooftop of the residential apartment building. The employees were not protected from falling to the ground level and were exposed to an 18-foot fall hazard as a result. b. Located at 2440-2446 Lakemere Way, Columbus, Ohio: On or about March 21, 2022, the employer did not protect four employees from falls when they conducted shingle removal from the steep 6/12 rooftop of the residential apartment building. The employees were not protected from falling to the ground level and were exposed to an 18-foot fall hazard as a result. c. Located at 1605-1625 Yeardley Trail, Columbus, Ohio: On or about March 21, 2022, the employer did not protect six employees from falls when they conducted shingle removal from the steep 6/12 rooftop of the residential apartment building. The employees were not protected from falling to the ground level and were exposed to an 18-foot fall hazard as a result.
