Text For Citation: 02 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13):Each employee(s) engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels were not protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system, nor were employee(s) provided with an alternative fall protection measure under another provision of paragraph 1926.501 (b) Location: 1172 Morton Street, Mattapan, MA Employees performing roofing work are not protected from fall hazards by the use of a fall protection system. Instance #1 - from a height of more than 21 feet, from the roofline of the home to the ground below, where personal fall arrest systems were not in use. Instance #2 - from a height of more than 7 feet, from the roofline of the garage to the ground below, where personal fall arrest systems were not in use. The employer fails to assure effective protections against falls as required by the standard, as demonstrated on April 12, 2022, when employees were working on the rooflines of both, the home and garage, where employees were not using adequate means of fall protection.
