29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(1): Where portable ladders were used for access to an upper landing surface and the ladder's length allows, the ladder side rails did not extend at least 3 feet (.9 m) above the upper landing surface being accessed. On the north side of the commercial building, employees engaged in roofing work used an extension ladder that did not have the side rails extended three feet over the upper landing surface exposing employees to potential fall hazards greater than six feet. Misael Cortez was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1926.1053(b)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1294529, citation number 01, item number 004 and was affirmed as a final order on March 20, 2018, with respect to a workplace located at 7575 Chaucer Place, Dallas, Texas 75237.
